Modified Roosevelt Log Home Design
This timber frame plan design has tremendous character, from the unique double strut trusses and flared log posts to the large window configuration over the kitchen sink. The kitchen window adds an abundance of additional light, allowing you to grow herbs and plants on the large, widened windowsill.
The kitchen provides plenty of counter and prep space along with a curved island/eating bar. The openness allows you to prepare diner for your guest while continuing to entertain and be a part of the action.
The semicircle space off the kitchen incorporating the dining room, adds a dynamic interior space. This space also adds tremendous character to the exterior and allows for a premium amount of glass and additional access to the patio. The large covered/exposed patio off the dining room, living room and master bedroom acts as a great extension of the interior space. Open the double French doors off the great room or master suite and enjoy the outdoors.
The substantial master suite contains a walk in closet and a sitting area perfect for curling up and indulging in a good book. There is also a generous ensuite with a double shower and rare corner window for the soaker tub.
The second floor has a convertible loft currently designed as a loft/study combo. This floor also contains two spacious guest rooms or kids’ rooms, which share a large covered deck once again accessed by double French doors. This floor has lots of extra storage room in the low headroom areas.
This home is packed full of extras, yet maintains a simple, open plan concept
